Magazine front cover task

In my lesson i was asked to create a cover page to help me when i come to do my own. I was asked to use Javis Cocker as the main person on the front cover. On the right is the front cover i created.

I think it is quite good as it has an eye catching main image and the information is in different fonts and sizes for how important it is. The masthead being in a bold and in a large font size makes it more eye catching than the information under the sell lines. It also has a basic colour scheme, all the text is in white to make sue it shows up easily on the dark background of the image. The fonts are all god because they either stand out or fit the theme of a 90's music magazine, however all of it is easy to read (maybe not so much on here as it's a smaller picture but in it's original size, A4, it is very easy to read). It also includes the date and price in the top right corner, in a small font size as it isn't important information to the reader. I think i could of improved this cover by moving the line at the bottom about the competition up a bit or even make it it's own sell line. Also I could of added a bar code to the cover in the bottom right corner.
