Evaluation question 6: What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Whilst creating my product I have gained knowledge about using a few different programs such as Photoshop, Excel and even blogger it's self.

As I went through working on my product or even preparing for my course, I learnt and picked up many different skills on Photoshop. I had to learn these so I could use them to make my final product. I hadn't used Photoshop at first so I had to learn from scratch what most of things did or how to do even simple things, such as making shapes or selecting certain areas. Once I found out what things were I learnt more advance things like adding a shadow to things or how to use layering better.

I gained more knowledge in how to turn tables of data into graphs on excel. Despite having done this before I didn't remember much so going over it have helped me remember some very useful information as I can now show data in charts or graphs.

Also before this course I have never used or even heard of blogger, so in order to do my course work I have had to learn the basics of how to use blogger. From simply making a new blog to changing the layout and themes of it.

Evaluation question 5: How did you attract/address your audience?

I attracted my audience by including content that I thought they would like. For example on the front cover and contents page I advertised things like information about local gigs or prizes from music quiz competitions.

I also went round and asked people from my target audience age group about what kind of things they would want to see in a magazine and tried to include as many of those features as I could.

I also included an artist that people in that kind of audience would probably enjoy reading about and relate to easily.

Evaluation question 4: Who would be the audience for your media product?

The audience for my magazine would probably be people around the age of 13 - 19 years old. They would be at least fans of rock music and maybe part of a social group involving or about rock music. They would probably like to listen to the music often and enjoy going to concerts or gigs. They would generally enjoy reading/knowing bout their favorite music artists and watch or read a lot about them.

These kind of people would be attracted to my magazine because of the content in it. I asked people in my target audiences age range what they wanted in a magazine and I tried to include content that would appeal to people in those social groups by using what I had seen in every day life.

Evaluation question 3: What kind of institution might distribute your media product and why?

An institute that might distribute my magazine would probably be something like IPC Media, because they distribute a lot of magazines including NME, which is a similar genre to my own magazine.

IPC Media make a very wide range of different genres of magazines for different audiences, this includes things like music, sport, DIY and other kinds of magazines. However the other institutions I have looked at tend to not be as varied and make mostly magazines around one genre. These are genres such as fashion, business and construction. IPC Media seem to be the most likely because they make a wide variety of magazines which includes one of the most popular music magazines.

My magazine would fit in with the other ones this institution distributes because it is similar to other magazines they do.
